Systems integration

Connect business applications or repair a transfer, including the rules for failed, repeated and corrected records.

Build or repair an application connection

We build connections between business applications and repair transfers that lose updates, create duplicates or leave an operator unsure what happened. The scope can cover field mapping, permissions and the code or configuration, followed by monitoring and recovery instructions.

For an existing connection, we trace records at both ends before making changes. We distinguish a request accepted for processing from a record saved at the destination and ready for the next task.

Connections that need attention

  • People re-enter customer, order or supplier details in several applications.
  • A failed transfer has no useful alert or recovery path.
  • Retrying a request creates a duplicate or replaces a later correction.
  • Two systems disagree about which version of a record is current.

From interface review to recovery tests

  1. Inspect the supported interfaces, permissions and records at both ends of the transfer.
  2. Define field mappings, identifiers and rules for new records, updates and deletions where relevant.
  3. Build or revise the connection and test duplicates, partial transfers and failures.
  4. Run through monitoring and recovery with the people who will support it.

Code, checks and recovery instructions

  • An interface brief with field mappings and record ownership.
  • The integration code or configuration included in the scope, with setup notes.
  • Test cases and results for transfers, updates and failure recovery.
  • A runbook covering alerts, safe retries and cases that require investigation.

Access and vendor limits

Available interfaces, vendor limits and permission to change each application determine what can be connected. We establish those constraints before defining the build.
